Lucky 7

Today is day 3 after my 7th knee surgery .

I decided to do it because I just couldn't live with the pain anymore . I never thought I would be having more surgery but I did .

The original doctor was an idiot who would not listen to me and I think just didn't want to treat me . Rather than telling me to try another doctor he wasted my time . Sent me to therapy , Larry the PT thought the doctor was on the wrong track and it was a joint issue not soft tissue like Dr. Dork thought . I did the therapy kept walking/hiking trying to run but it wasn't better . Went back to Dr. Dumbass , I know I know but we are conditioned to believe they are all knowing gods  . He told me I needed to have my lateral release re-done my knee cap was too tight (wtf ? ) . Time to find a new doctor . I called Reno Orthopedic they scheduled me with a sports medicine doctor .

Dr. Uppal at Reno Orthopedic spent about 2 minutes and told me I had a meniscus problem , ordered a MRI . He was right , I did  . I put off surgery for about a month we had some other plans . During that time I finished the Lost Sierra 23k very slowly but had a good time and met some super people .

Surgery was quick,  in at 7:00 awake in recovery by 8:30 home by about 11:00 . There was a big tear , another loose body and it looks as if I am bone on bone on the medial side in two places . I'll find out more on Wednesday when I go in for follow up . So far it's been pretty painless I have been using crutches but could be fully weight bearing . I can move it well and the awful pain I had getting up from sitting is gone along with the feeling of it being stuck .

The bottom left picture is how it should look , bottom right is how it does look on the medial side the pink spots are my femur , you shouldn't be able to see those .  Doctor suggested a partial replacement , the lateral side is very good with no wear , medial side too big a mess to patch . He also suggested no more running .
