November 23 - Did @6 with Brian and the dogs , ran .82 with an average pace of 9:09 . Since I am only running really short distances I am trying hard to recover my form . I have to think about each stride which I would rather not do , running used to be away to clear my head and think about things . Right now it's a whole lot like dressage , shoulders back , pelvis forward , unclench your toes , relax , trust your shoes (horse) . I know the 5 months of running while injured created some bad habits just like years ago riding with the herniated disk created real issues . I'm really happy with how it's doing I did not expect to be pain free and I'm not . It is tolerating what I've done so far which is what I was hoping for . Next couple days off from running .
November 24 - Walked 2 miles with the dogs & Brian, continued to eat too much.....
November 25 - Thought about going to a group run but didn't get going early enough .Ended up hiking 5 miles on the Halo Trail which is near the Feed Store and part of the trails on Peavine we spend a lot of time on . New goal month starts today 100 miles by Christmas Eve , combination of running and walking . No bike goals I just struggle too much with the bike .
November 26- Ran 1 full mile slowly and I had to stop twice to catch the dogs 11:55 , walked another 2.5 .
November 27 - Back to work last visit to the doctor . He comes into the office and says " That knee is really messed up ! " . Gives me an anaolgy about bald tires and how long they last depends on how you drive them blah blah blah . Then tells me , call me when you need me and I'm sure I will . He thought my left knee probably has some tendonitits I don't have any pain in the joint but over the graft harvest site . It is calming down . Went to my last therapy appointment talked about what I can and should do , I did tell Larry I was running again and he just shook his head . He encouraged me to go back to yoga which I did every day when I was showing just so I could ride with moderate pain .
November 28- The massive rain storm held off until 12:00 when I walked out the door for lunch . I took the dogs to Hidden Valley we walked maybe 1/2 mile in the rain and wind which was it for me and how long it took to get them to shit . While I'm getting into my foul weather gear Cyndy calls and tells me everything is on sale at Macy's ....I don't even know why she would be out in the rain Native Nevadans usually don't go outside when it rains because they think the world is ending .
